Saving and Earning (Consultant Edition)

Living paycheck to paycheck is not living it's stressing, giving into anxiety, worrying about where your next bill payment is coming from or where your next meal is coming from. In present day, stable income is difficult to come by even if you have a steady job, you're still hurting financially because what you have is not cutting it. When you're supporting a family, it becomes more dire to KNOW how you're going to cross that finish line.

The pandemic left many out of work and now businesses are struggling to get back to business due to lack of staff. These same businesses had no choice to but cut down on their staff because they were closed or significantly cut their operating hours that they could not sustain the size of their staff. Direct sales companies flourished because it was the only business where operating hours were able to remain because it transferred to virtual.

I started my business in September 2020. I wasn't sure how it was going to go with much of the business being virtual but it was successful. Virtual parties are the closest we got to any kind of social norm. All of you can have stress free parties and we could do what we love. Granted, some could not afford to purchase the products they need or desired but the opportunity we offer helps with that. When I began my business in September, I could not stock up on Tupperware to share with my customers at first but again, Tupperware helped me to build my stock and aid my customers and hosts with resources at my fingertips.

The only product I owned when I started was our Lunch-It containers. So how did I provide demos of our other products? Demonstration videos from corporate as well as fellow consultants; I also earned free product along the way through our confidence program. So how do we save and earn as a consultant?

You invest in your business each time you place an order. Did you know that? One of very few companies where you pay it forward into your own business. With the 25% discount, I have been able to buy products to build my inventory but also to contribute to my sales which goes right back in my pocket through my commission. I can get what I want and need to not only demonstrate, but to join the many who use Tupperware to make their lives easier, more fun, and bring their loved ones together. I also build new relationships with people within my team and beyond. We've started from the bottom and worked our way up.

This is me 8 months into my business. Do you see the smile on my face and the stylish tie I have on? Not even a year into my new business and I obtained the level of Star Manager. I've never been a manager of anything before and here I am, rockin' it. I'll admit I've put my business on the back burner for the past 2 months due to personal issues but I'm jumping back on the bandwagon because this opportunity allows me to help others, meet new people, build new relationships, earn free products and gifts for my hard work, and most of all, being able to make new memories with my family.

There are many perks to being a consultant including earning a free car (yes a free car), trips, products, but for me, the best of the perks is how I've grown and am growing as a person. It's okay to stumble especially when you have a team of individuals that support you in a way that they become like family to you. We help each other. The important thing is knowing that you cannot fail. It is all up to you what you do with it, what perks you obtain. This is the most rewarding experience because you bring yourself to the business. You are what makes you unique. You have the opportunity to show people why they should do business with you. You're going to have your bumps but you grow stronger from them.
What do you risk by joining my team? Nothing. What do you risk by not joining my team? You risk the absence of an opportunity that will help you save and earn at the same time. YOU can earn that extra income for a trip you've been meaning to take; YOU can earn great incentives that you never thought possible; YOU can earn a you that you had no idea existed. I work at a University Librray full time, attend grad school part time, and work my business part time. I wouldn't change a thing. My kids get involved in my business and it makes it that much more fulfilling. Remember, living paycheck to paycheck is not living but seizing opportunities that will change your life is worth the risk.

A Healthy Breakfast of Fruit

The most common resolution for a new year, new month, and new day is to lose weight. I should know, I've made the same resolution several times. I can't have the same breakfast every day, it bothers my stomach. Some days I can eat scrambled eggs, other days I can't; some days I can eat avocados, other days I can't; some days oatmeal seems appealing but most days, I can't. This morning I had a breakfast that I can most definitely tolerate: fruit. I don't always have time to sit down and have a proper breakfast. Today was one of those days because I woke up late.  The fastest breakfast I could get together is grapefruit and cherries. I put them in my Lunch-It container (which is environmentally friendly being made from recyclable materials like our eco water bottles). The lunch-it container is great for portion control and for snacks.  As you can see, it was perfect for my breakfast this morning. They are really ideal for snacks, cold lunches, and fruit. It's...

How to Sweat and Not Lose a Drop

When you're not a fan of working out but you are a fan of long walks, the weather is never your friend. In the winter, it can be too cold to walk (though it's the weather I prefer) and the summer is too hot and sticky however it's not just the stickiness that gets to me. I heat up quickly, feeling all kinds of discomfort from headaches to tiredness to the swelling of my hands and feet. My oldest stepson doesn't too well either. If he's in the heat too long, he becomes disoriented, short of breath, and he can also swell up. As you can tell, with as hot as it's been, I have not gone on walks like I wanted however since I got myself the Xtreme Aqua Freezeable Bottle, I want to see how we do.  The XtremeAqua Freezeable Bottle really is amazing. I brought the bottle to my work, fully frozen. This is what it looked like by about 2, 3pm. It was sitting in my office since 8am. Usually a normal water bottle would've been completely thawed and let's face it, drunk...

Shopping on a Tight Budget (Host Edition)

Shopping on a budget can be frustrating and downright not fun. It occurs often when you're doing this thing called adulting and if you're like me, you hope for a chance to splurge on yourself to get things you WANT instead of constantly paying for things you NEED (like paying bills).  This pandemic has not helped things. Since the reopening of businesses (those that survived the pandemic), prices have skyrocketed which I'm sure it's to help these businesses regain ground. Many are on tight budgets. Grocery shopping has even become a headache because $40 doesn't get you far even in the discounted grocery stores like Aldi's and Grocery Outlet. The average lowest grocery bill for my family of 5 is $70-$80 while the most expensive has been $160-180. It may seem low but when you take bills and other necessities into account, that's a lot to lose.  One way to save money is to use an app called Flashfood. Flashfood tells you what stores in your area has discounte...
